"Fellows at Rice to solve environmental puzzles"
The Program
Recognizing that international collaborations are essential to the development of workable solutions to the world's energy and environmental challenges, Rice University founded this fellowship in 2007 to bring experienced international researchers to Houston and to fulfill a goal of Rice’s Vision for the Second Century (V2C) by building bridges to research institutions beyond our shores.
The Fellowship has invited research scholars in engineering, the natural sciences, and the social sciences to work in residence at Rice for periods of two-to-nine months during the 2008-2009 academic year. Key to the fellowship is a research project conducted in collaboration with at least one Rice faculty member. Applicants must be tenured or tenure-track faculty at an international institution
of higher education.
Application
The full application packet for this program includes the following items.
1. A research project proposal in collaboration with at least 1 Rice faculty member (1000 word proposal plus a CV);
2. An institutional description to introduce the potential partner university;
3. A collaboration statement (150 words) which addresses some or all of the following criteria, including the fellow's plans to:
a) collaborate with multiple researchers at Rice;
b) foster collaborations between Rice and other institutions;
c) expose Rice students to international opportunities.
